Yesterday

You woke up to the sound of a knock on your door
A policeman was there to tell you the news
Your husband was dead, this was no ruse
You told him to leave, you loved him no more
The words you said ripped him to his core
He drove away in fury
You didn't realize his vision was blurry
He swerved like a madman, crazed to his death
He hit a truck then took his last breath
The people in the other vehicle was also your kin
Your mother and father died within
They tried to save them, but God called them home
You fell to the floor and cried
Lord, I pray, send me back to yesterday
