You

I let out a sigh.
The picture frame in my hand heavy.
How could you do this to me?
My tears smear the glass.
Somewhere deep down I knew it wouldn't last.
So why did I hold on so long?
I knew playing with fire was going to get me burned,
But I loved the way it hurt.
So I continued to play.
I got lost in the game.
We played for keeps and you won.
You took your prize and walked.
You got what you wanted.
So you didn't need the pawn.
It's been so long.
Yet, here I am.
He tries to make me happy.
He tries to make me forget.
To feel for you differently.
I can't.
I've told him that.
You have my heart.
You won it fair and square.
I played the game,
And I was the one who lost.
