You and I

You and I could fly away,
to a place where us they will not find,
where divorce is shamed, cheating is a crime,
and marriages do bind.

You and I could jump into the ocean,
and swim far away from here,
and when you are cold i'll hold you tight,
and soak up all your fear.

You and I could run away,
run to lands afar,
where currency consists,
Of only wishes and shooting stars.

You and I could walk this path,
walk to someplace new,
where the sun always shines, the birds always sing,
and the sky is always blue.

You and I could dream tonight,
of places far and wide,
but best of all when we wake,
we will still be side by side.
