You And Me

Friends, so many lost friends
What could have been is not
What shouldn't be is
We are connected, whether we want to be or not
By the internet and technology, by race and religion
By movies and television, by friendships and love
By families and rulers, by hate and waar
Friends, a lot more friends
Both local and foreign friends
Go to international gatherings
And find the common ground
No black and white
No red and brown
No light and dark
No short and tall; just you and me
No more racism, no more sexism
No more barriers around our differences
We are all human, we all have hearts
No longer shall they ache; we shall be free!
An international meeting
We shake hands and talk
I meet you and you meet me
And it starts with you and me
