You and Me

We said "I do" on a hot July day
Two nervous kids, a babe on the way.
Did we look to the future?
What did we see?
Not that it mattered it was just You and Me

Three years go by, we bought that old house,
What did you see?
Not a house but a home for our sweet family
Two kids in tow as we grow,
You and Me

In no time at all two kids become four,
Times are busyand crazy but never a bore.
As we watch them move on to Lives of their own
So much pride that we feel in the seeds we have sown.

Now its year Thirty Five
We've lived and we've laughed and we've loved and we've lost
But the sadness we feel is quickly replaced
by the smiles and the laughs from our Grandchildren's faces

The promise we made on that day in July
Has been easy to keep as the years have gone by
You and Me now again as it was from the start.
My soulmate, my lover, my partner in heart.
