you are enough for me
I give you all my heart, all my soul,
I know it still somehow isn’t enough.
There must be something more I can give,
yet you never ask for more.
You ask nothing of me,
you want nothing but a few quiet moments,
a few simple words, a familiar glance —
ordinary things, perhaps,
yet to me, worth more than diamonds.
You never wait for a miracle,
and no trace of complaint ever touches your lips.
And still, I would give you the whole world,
if only I could hold it in my hands,
and if only you wished to take it.
But you only whisper:
“You are enough for me.”
