You Cannot Rebel Against Fate

You cannot rebel against fate
Though the minutes are too few
It is not the melting clock we should hate

April fourteenth, you remember the date
Stick yourself back together; seal it with glue
You cannot rebel against fate

Hanging over your head, a wilted slate
You plead for a redo
It is not the melting clock we should hate

The hands of time suffocate
They leave a residue
You cannot rebel against fate

Sickness had the power to deteriorate
Not one life but two
It is not the melting clock we should hate

You want one more moment but alas it's too late
Time has now passed and you cannot undo
You cannot rebel against fate
It is not the melting clock we should hate
