You Don’t Know Me

By L P

You don’t know me.

That’s it.

I can sit here and shake. I can rage. I can let loose with a fire and break you down, bit by bit.

But you don’t know me.

I can cry. I can wring my wrists and wonder why you would say, do, think that. I can sigh.

But you don’t know me.

I can shrink down and disappear. I can be afraid to speak my mind again. I can confront and combat. I can laugh.

But you don’t know me.

You don’t respect what I have to say. You don’t think that I matter and you don’t care about hurting me.

Because you don’t know me.

And I don’t know you.

So let's leave it at that.
