You light the way

When I light a candle I think of you

An impassioned flame from which I take my cue

To breathe in deep and exhale long

As my thoughts of you sing a song

A sweet melody that beckons me

With a gentle tug that pulls me winsomely

From a pensive stance in which I wallow

Where sweet dreams of you call me to follow

I know not where these musings will carry me

But if closer to you, then I'll follow faithfully

Because my desired destination is your treasured heart
