You remind me

By Kay

You remind me of cold weather
and pounding rain
drizzles and drops
puddles and lakes
insignificant or powerful, it was always up for you to choose
coats that shielded us from the cold
And we would endure it just to be together
You remind me of Strong winds
pulling us in so many directions
And how we used to be so vain
You remind me of adventures
fun. and wild, crazy and reckless
that kept both of us sane
You remind me of overcast skies
And how we had so much to gain
You remind me of waterfalls
majestic and potent
And how you kept me in my lane
You remind of strong trees
that bent but never broke
lost their leaves but still had hope
And how you fought the pain
You remind me
