You Returned

I never wanted you to fail
I let you go to see you sail
In front of me
So happily
With who you wanted wholeheartedly

I thought he came
With so much more
Then what was here
Upon the shore
Where castles so fragile
Lasted a day
And gestures of love
Got washed away
Where your desires
Weren't pits of fire
To be pissed on by packs of liars

You tell of your trust
He grounded to dust
Of barefooted travel
On shredded glass
And heated gravel
Every dawn was rage
Every kiss a cage

You fall off your wounded feet to pray
As the mourning swallows you everyday
