You See

You see,
Poetry always left a sour taste for me
The depression for no reason
All of their problems and they keep in
All of their emotions
Except for their same sad motions
You see, I never liked poetry
For it was always ruined for me
9th grade, I wrote happy poems
But all I heard from others were sad omens
Why not write about happiness?
Cause they don't want their tears in
You see, I never kept tears in
Cause I never let them get in
I don't like them, never will
But others focus on the ill
I stood tall
Never let anyone let me fall
You see, and I hope you will see
The sadness when you get teased
But the happiness that remains hidden
Until you are ready to search the ruin
Search for the reason that you are here
And always carry it near
You see, there is more to life
Than blinding strife
