You Were Different

When I'm all alone, I see your face.
What could be, what should have been;
please take me back to that place.
When I first saw you, I couldn't breathe.
I knew you were the one for me.

If there's one thing I need you to know,
it's that I will always love you, body and soul.
My dear baby, this one's for you:
no matter what we both might go through,
I should have stayed to show you
how much I truly love you.

If I never get another chance to say,
just how my life ended up this way,
know when I lie trying to sleep,
eyes open wide,
it's you who I wish was by my side.

You were different.
That's what you said to me.
There's a difference between dancing
and letting the music set you free.
Something inside you speaks to me.
It's like you were the one who I was supposed to meet,
the one to hold me close when I go to sleep.
I want to be your everything; close your eyes and let me.
