You Win

Hiding in your safety zone,
the wall you've built surrounds.
I use my words,
my strongest weapon,
in an attempt to break it down.
You use your words
just as well,
to knock me to the ground.
But somehow, still, the silence wins-
severest of all sounds.
I desperately search for the person I knew,
but you're nowhere to be found.
Hurting me more and more, because hurting me makes you proud.
I was fighting for you,
not against you;
yet, you wear the crown.
Congratulations, sweetheart.
You win,
we lose,
and the crowd is cheering loud.
