Your Eyes

I fell in love with your eyes and the universe encased in them.
Green as the grass your bare feet walked upon.
Leaving footprints in every part of my being.
Brown as the soil that grows in fields and rows.
That will be forgotten and never sowed.
I fell in love in the light behind those eyes.
That has started to dim and no longer shines.
But most importantly I fell in love with your eyes.
The ones that looked directly into mine.
Eyes that could be still my soul and stop time.
But time is ever moving and so are we.
Colors start to fade and lights expire.
Then there's no more flame to fuel the desire.
