Your Least Favorite Poem

Your least favorite poem
Is the one in your head
Flowing from your mouth
Into someone else’s bed.
They read it and weep
You read it before you sleep
Hoping that maybe that that person will see
Just how much it means
To have a companion in words.
You can make them anything
A bridge, a hardship
Your heart.
Only then do you realize
That only these eyes
Are the thing
Keeping you afloat.
You kick and scream
But no one seems
To notice your cries.
Your wails
Are only small breaths
In a gargantuan world.
Your least favorite poem
Is one known to no one
Except the darkest part
Of your head.
