Your Shadow

Traced by light and colored in darkness,
Your silhouette filled me with sadness.
I reached out to hold you in my arms
And I tried to kiss your sunless form
But I cannot touch your shadow. I am forlorn.
We said goodbye in the autumn sun.
Just as Apollo travels east to west,
Has your image changed-more or less?
Who cares if your shadow has cast a spell on me;
As you lengthen or shorten with each shining ray,
I feel my constancy of love for you every day!
