You’re just like me
I stare everywhere to find myself in a crowd
A crowd so familiar of people whom I was told about
“That was my ex-best friend” she said
And I ponder everyday about if that was stated about me
It was a red flag
But it never seemed so to me
It made me shine among the crowd
To be the current pick
It never seemed to me that she was being a total prick
But when it’s your time
I’ll be there
I’ll be there to chuckle with glee
To point and laugh and tell you
“You’re just like me”
A crowd so familiar of people whom I was told about
“That was my ex-best friend” she said
And I ponder everyday about if that was stated about me
It was a red flag
But it never seemed so to me
It made me shine among the crowd
To be the current pick
It never seemed to me that she was being a total prick
But when it’s your time
I’ll be there
I’ll be there to chuckle with glee
To point and laugh and tell you
“You’re just like me”

I wrote this in the car on my way back from my grandparent’s house. My ex-best friend and her new best friend are both my cousins, but seeing them together, and how my best friend treated her. I realized that my best friend was never a good person, and her replacing me was better for my mental state even if I was in pain in the beginning.
