You’re No Stranger

I was walking one cloudy day.
Raindrops melting upon my face.
I looked ahead and saw a man.
His eyes not so bright and a smile not so wide.
I stopped in asked don't you just love the smell of rain?
He replied you're talking to me I'm just a stranger.
I asked do you have a name?
He replied yes ma'am I do.
Then you're no stranger you have a name.
His eyes got a little brighter.
His smile a little wider.
As we parted that day.
I wondered if he would remember that stranger he met one cloudy day.
