You’re Turning Twenty-One

Today you're turning twenty-one
My, how the years have come and gone
It seems as if I just gave birth
And you burst with a cry upon the earth
Then you begin to grow a bit
And scoot and crawl and talk and sit
Before I knew it preschool was here
And I placed you in another's care
When the days of school arrived
That's when you really came alive
But as your school days turned each year
In just one blink, they disappeared
And when you held your diploma at last
I knew your days of youth had past
And college was just around the bend
Filled with adventure,joy and friends
Now as you prepare for what you'll do
And whatever God has in store for you
I'm proud of the man that you've become
As you enter the year of twenty-one.
