Zeus Seuss

On Olympus all hail mighty Zeus,
At Dartmouth they cheer Doctor Seuss;
He too is a god,
Unique though quite odd,
Surpassing the famed Mother goose.

Let's start with the Cat in the Hat,
A master of rhyming chit-chat;
That's that and so on,
With his strange goings-on,
Subtle laughs at the Seuss habitat.

Immortalized Green Eggs and Ham,
In the publishing world a Grand slam;
Sam I Am so well known,
He could sit on a throne,
Wham bam - - a new Omar Khayyam.

Ted Geisel and Seuss intertwined,
A Zeus in his way thus opined;
Poem paean served up,
In this word loving cup,
Up - - up - - and away - - thus enshrined.
