This is a story about self discovery, denial, fear, acceptance. In the beginning, the poet explores previously perceived dangerous territory inside themself. They discover a side of themself they had been denying and eventually dive in. The euphoria the poet feel leads them to believe that this is their true self and they've been living a lie for so much of their life. This notion blinds the poet, and they come to antagonize their past self, feeling that he is haunting them and holding them back. The poet runs endlessly tying to escape the shadow of the past. They avoid anything that could associate their self with that part. But something doesn't feel right, and running grows tiresome.
Eventually, the poet realizes that denying that half of them is just as damaging as denying the other half before. That they are not living whole. The poet finally not only faces their fears, but embrace the very thing they've been running from this whole time. They become something more. They live with less fear, less doubt, less burden.
