I am a disabled Army veteran of Desert Storm. My "job" is doing custom woodworking at my shop here in Kansas. I have been writing and performing music my whole life and never considered my writings as poetry but I suppose it is. My poem "A Soldiers' Cross" is one that just kind of came to me and was primarily intended to be carved in the wood plaques that I sell, a lot of which are veteran or military related. The Army was a big part of my life as I spent some 10 years in service. As a side note, several of my plaques were recently used as props in a soon to be released Steven Spielberg movie called "Thank You for Your Service".
