Rekindled

By Nova

Gazing up, my eyes reflect a clear summer night
Stars are in the sky, again. A laugh escapes in sigh.
The air's the calmest that it's been since last year's fall blew through
Drifting down, like autumn leaves, my eyes linger on you.

Imitating our souls, our fingers weave and interlace.
Reciprocated aching ended by this sweet embrace.
Far too long I've yearned to feel this close to you again.
Relief radiating like the sun, my moon in hand.

I draw you close and feel the pressure lifting off my chest,
As starlight's shining gently in your eyes, now unrepressed.
The Earth is slowing down, now, as I look at lips unkissed.
Softly pressing mine to yours in bliss I've sorely missed.

My heart is singing, calling out for yours to do the same.
We lean our heads together, whispering each other's names.
As skin is brushing skin, the stars illuminate the sky
Mirroring the spark within, rekindled, you and I.
