A Book

By Carla

A Book

So simple and well-defined
A book lies on the table.
Open it for lives unknown or
Hear lovely princesses in a fable.
Even the memory of Lenore
Is forever written in long-forgotten lore.

Just as easily, a tiger may crouch,
Or Thing 1 and Thing 2 may bounce.
A jungle of passion may lie within
As bleeding souls strive on a battlefield
In a wintery glen.

Let he nor I
Tell what is within,
But be bold and behold
That which awaits discovery
Lying so simply on a table.
