A Call To The Mountain
A city that never sleeps
Glows on until the morning hours
Yet all night she stood
As violet and white coalesces
Making her even more radiant
Tall and beautiful
She remained in my sight
Until the buzz of the clock
Alerts me to an awakened state
Preparing me for my duties
Amongst the world of the living
The evening falls
Then it's blinking lights
And the never ending hustle
This is a sinful place indeed
Though off in the distance
There's a familiar scene
It does not do her justice
Every night the vision of her returns
And the familiarity embedded around her
Time can not resist the urge
I am too intrigued by her voice
My past calls me from my future
And calls me back
Back to my roots
Glows on until the morning hours
Yet all night she stood
As violet and white coalesces
Making her even more radiant
Tall and beautiful
She remained in my sight
Until the buzz of the clock
Alerts me to an awakened state
Preparing me for my duties
Amongst the world of the living
The evening falls
Then it's blinking lights
And the never ending hustle
This is a sinful place indeed
Though off in the distance
There's a familiar scene
It does not do her justice
Every night the vision of her returns
And the familiarity embedded around her
Time can not resist the urge
I am too intrigued by her voice
My past calls me from my future
And calls me back
Back to my roots
