A Christian\'s Lament
In the depths of my sorrow, I cry out to you,
My heart heavy with burdens, my spirit low.
I search for solace in this world of strife,
But find only emptiness and pain in life.
I long for the peace that only you can give,
A respite from the trials that make me grieve.
I yearn for your presence, your comforting embrace,
To guide me through this dark and lonely space.
Yet, in my weakness, I stumble and fall,
My faith wavering, my hope growing small.
I doubt your love, I question your grace,
As shadows of despair envelop my face.
But even in my doubt, I cling to a thread,
A flicker of faith that has not yet fled.
I believe in your mercy, your boundless love,
That even in my sorrow, you are above.
So I will lift my voice, though it trembles with fear,
And cry out to you, my Savior, my dear.
Help me to find hope in this desolate land,
And lead me back to your loving hand.

I once wrote a song that may give you comfort: Hallelujah Verse 1 In a world so lost and broken, where shadows seem to reign, Where the fleeting joys are hollow, and hearts are full of pain, We lift our voices high, in a prayer that breaks the night, Seeking truth, we trust in god and in his might. Verse 2 Modern ways have turned us, from the path of holy grace, Chasing empty dreams and idols, losing sight of Your embrace, But in the stillness, You are calling, with a voice so pure and true, Guiding us to a new life, helping us in all we do. Chorus Hallelujah, Hallelujah, praise the Father, Spirit, Son, Deus Vult, our journey’s just begun, until His kingdom come. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, with one voice we rise and sing, Deus Vult to our Savior, Deus Vult to our King. Bridge In the silence, we find solace, in Your presence, safe and sound, Lift us from this worldly sorrow, place our feet on sacred ground. Hallelujah, we are singing, to the One who gives us life, Deus Vult, standing tall against the liberal hive. Chorus Hallelujah, Hallelujah, praise the Father, Spirit, Son, Deus Vult, our journey’s just begun, until His kingdom come. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, with one voice we rise and sing, Deus Vult to our Savior, Deus Vult to our King Outro Hallelujah, Hallelujah, hear our plea, oh Lord above, Deus Vult, our hearts are yearning for Your love. Hallelujah, Hallelujah, oh lord, come and be our guide, Deus Vult, in You we find true meaning, in You we shall abide.
Lovely! Have you put music to it? Or is it just words? Cause I have words to songs but not music!
We all have our faith tested and many times feel we are forgotten. This is a great poem, keep writing!
Wonderful poem!! "So I will lift my voice, though it trembles with fear" hit hardest. It was a perfect description of pushing through using imagery!!
