A Mother's Nightmare

I am a mother who's lost a child.
I wonder if the pain will ever stop.
I hear his little voice and
I see his big beautiful smile.
I want to hold him again.
I am a mother who's lost a child.

I imagine he is in Heaven and happy.
I feel weak and wish my heart would stop.
I think of him in everything I do.
I touch and hold things of his.
I worry he didn't know how much I loved him.
I cry when I'm tired and the night is quiet.
I am a mother who's lost a child.

I understand death is journey's end.
I say I accept it and will find Peace.
I dream of seeing him again in Heaven.
I try to remain strong and
I hope to make him proud.
I am a mother who's lost a child.

This Poems Story

My 3 year old died July 25, 2017. He was my first born child. He would brighten my darkest days with his smile and his laugh. He was caring and smart and a complete joy. I miss him every day.
