A room filled with reflection

I sit quietly in a room that seems filled with emptiness.
Yet, I see a few people that are filled with bliss.
Every key she plays reminds me of my sadness.
Silently, I stare afar seeing my own madness.
These days I wonder if music helps see one's soul.
Why do I carry something that's not even whole?
I wonder as I take a sip of this drink called pain.
Most of my life I have been filled with disdain.
I have to ask….why am I this way?
From life I have once again fallen astray.
My heart is stained with the heartaches its felt.
I'm bitter about the cards I've been dealt.
The sound of the keys continue to fill the room.
All the while my insides continue to fill with gloom.
She continues to fill my ears with sad tunes.
All my heartaches brand my body like runes.
The sun is shining bright through the window.
Yet things are so dark there is no glow.
I sigh as I take another sip of my drink.
I raise up slowly as these thoughts once again sink.
