Angels and Demons
What can I say I've learned?
The desires of which I’ve yearned
Have always led me astray
In a paradoxical kind of way
The answers I’ve always seeked
Now the questions seem weak ;
So much that I thought I knew
Wasn’t even close,
to breaking through.
So what can I say I’ve seen?
Amidst the fires of hell
and pastures so green?
Hope and despair
Life can be unfair
Joy and Loss
The follower becomes the boss.
Everything is not what it seems
The Devil wears white
While the angels all scream.
So what has this life taught me?
That even in the flames
We can choose to be free.
