Anxiety Attack

By Cass

This feeling gnaws at me
At its worst
I feel like my chest will explode
But it’s ice cold

I can’t be in a room that’s occupied
I can’t be in a house that’s occupied
How can I be even more alone?
I need to be the only one in the universe

My legs spaz out
And twitch
My mother thinks I’m irritable
And really

I am

I’m downright
Irritable

The sound of breathing irritates me,
Anyone else’s or mine.

Any movement
Rustling
Crinkling
Talking
Footsteps
Really any noise at all irritates me.

The light irritates me
My phone irritates me
The ticking of clocks drives me insane
It’s all

Too much

So I will myself away.
To another world
A place where I’m alone
And my chest feels hollow
But I’m calm
And exhausted
But I’m calm
I still want to cry
But I’m calm.

All at once,
My world ended
And began
All over again
Ready for disaster.
