beyond the orchid
Months have now passed and our positions have shifted, the future looks bleak, as I watch the ship set sail without me as I miss it.
All I can think as it sails into the horizon, is that I have never witnessed a more beautiful tragedy than this alone now on my island.
As your back turned and shunned me, I shivered in awe from the view of your curves,
the strain in your voice hurt my core, yet there was more I deserved.
The constant complaints that I shouted were whispers compared to the anguish endured.
Nothing I said would ever be heard.
I was brought to the edge where I struggled with faith, not much to look forward to and as empty as a wraith.
And even as your negligent manner diminished any sparkle of hope,
I still waited, words burning like flames, I said things that made me feel wrong and ashamed,
But as mad as I was and as hurt as I am, I have never, would never walk away from you Sam.
You're probably a witch or a russian communist spy, but as long as it is done by your hands any day could be made a good day having you in my sight.
I am standing now in that orchid waiting for the trees all to die, eating my words because trees live ridiculously long lives,
But if the endgame is still you then the trees will wilt, all the roadblocks will clear and storms will stand still.
Then when the eternity has made its appearance and gone, the little things we thought were so prudent will seem so insignificant and wrong.
Forever is so much more than this overnight sadness as I lay crying because I miss your sweet touch,
Forever is ours if you'll have it, if my personality flaws aren't too much.
