Blinded lover of the moon
My love, do you yearn for a warm embrace?
Were you bewitched by their entrancing hearth?
Did you write poems about their burning rays?
Were you entrapped in the throes of passion?
Or did you really fall in love?
Of course, you were utterly helpless
Far-gone, dazed and ensnared
In their wild raging fire
A fool, you have become
Yet you won't let her go
She is brushed aside
Tied to trickery of a fool
But gleaming gracefully
Shining in your gloom
She is magnificent, divine
She is achingly and lovingly radiant
Yet you refuse to see her
Perhaps you lost your sight to the sun
Were you bewitched by their entrancing hearth?
Did you write poems about their burning rays?
Were you entrapped in the throes of passion?
Or did you really fall in love?
Of course, you were utterly helpless
Far-gone, dazed and ensnared
In their wild raging fire
A fool, you have become
Yet you won't let her go
She is brushed aside
Tied to trickery of a fool
But gleaming gracefully
Shining in your gloom
She is magnificent, divine
She is achingly and lovingly radiant
Yet you refuse to see her
Perhaps you lost your sight to the sun
