Promises Broken
                      
I remember the day we met
It’s one I’ll never forget
The first time we held hands
I thought life was so grand
I remember when we said "I do"
That’s when I knew I really loved you
I thought we'd always be together
Life could only get better
But as the years went by
All I could do was cry
Wondering where we went wrong
Why they stopped playing our song
I wonder where did our love go
When did the flame burn out
Leaving us with nothing but doubt
You never said you'd break my heart
Promises were never meant to be broken
Hurtful words should not of been spoken
I will move on even after you’re gone
I will smile again and my heart will mend
One day you'll look back and feel regret
But for me I will forget
You will try to make it right
But I'll be no where in sight
Then you will know how it feels to be alone
But by then I will be gone
