Broken Spring
Wind it up and watch him go‘till he slows down or stops,
then wind it again
a little further this time
until he runs out or flops.
and if it should flop,
then everything winds down
in fast electronic convulsions
until you pick it up
and put him back on his feet,
but by that time the wind-up
has become wound out and beat.
wind it up again
as far as you can
before letting him go —
but it doesn’t move,
it’s stands staringly still...
...his spring just broke you know.

This is about pushing someone too far, because sometimes when you do that to a person, everyone has a breaking point and they break down.
