Butterfly flies high
Encapsulated butterflies
in their transparent cage
bouncing off the sealed compartment
fluttering aimlessly.
held between my lips so soft
trying to find a way to set them free
i couldn’t figure out an answer,
should i taste and swallow thee?
my lips turned aqua like the sky
i started to feel funny inside
then my face followed suit,
what was i now supposed to do?
the capsule had started to take effect
a little tickling inside my head
feeling the same from inside my ears
i started shrinking and couldn’t hear.
out from each ear flew a butterfly
floating away, erratically
then from my mouth came one larger
but i kept shrinking, what was the matter?
smaller and smaller i continued to shrink
my arms then sprouted monarch's wings,
the butterflies are now free, my mind's lost its grip
flying high, i never felt, such an amazing trip.
when i the butterfly finally sat down
and drank from a flower close around
flitting away like an unmanned kite
i willingly took my last sip of life.
in their transparent cage
bouncing off the sealed compartment
fluttering aimlessly.
held between my lips so soft
trying to find a way to set them free
i couldn’t figure out an answer,
should i taste and swallow thee?
my lips turned aqua like the sky
i started to feel funny inside
then my face followed suit,
what was i now supposed to do?
the capsule had started to take effect
a little tickling inside my head
feeling the same from inside my ears
i started shrinking and couldn’t hear.
out from each ear flew a butterfly
floating away, erratically
then from my mouth came one larger
but i kept shrinking, what was the matter?
smaller and smaller i continued to shrink
my arms then sprouted monarch's wings,
the butterflies are now free, my mind's lost its grip
flying high, i never felt, such an amazing trip.
when i the butterfly finally sat down
and drank from a flower close around
flitting away like an unmanned kite
i willingly took my last sip of life.
