CAGES AND CHAINS
You and I imprisoned in golded cages
Where canaries chirp in a rhythm of inviting flesh
While the promise of love beckons beyond
The interlace of grills and vine leaves
Like gluttons, we devour the prey inside our cages
Releasing the curse we have
Before the vulture descends
and suck the blood from our veins
Then each to each hold on, bodies intertwined
Spirit freed at last
Then again perhaps
We could call it quits
After having tried.
