de Milo
Standing alone in shining lightperfect shape, contoured delight
shroud barely hanging around her hips
cameo face, no expressive lips
both arms amputated in a war
over some land, was all it was for
she didn’t do anything wrong
still standing tall, sorrow song.
no matter how broken, it's chiseled might
an artist's genius still comes to life.
Venus the Goddess kept in a hall
admired by everyone the love she recalls
de Milo mounted in a museum room
posed forever, marble formed tomb.
