Death without regret

Oh that day when the sun fades away
and on the bed I gently lay.
Oh that day when my eyes turn dim,
and my strength becomes so weak
let me have no regret.

Oh that moment, when my heart fails
and breathe loses its worth to me.
When to the dust I prepare to return,
and life begins to leave with every blink of time.
Let there be no regrets.

Oh that hour, when eternal tour should begin.
When on my door, death strongly knocks,
and on the past I slowly reflect,
Let it be filled with joy for a life well lived
and not with regret of wasted years.

Someday my life shall pass away,
and shall become memories in the minds of men.
It is not the fear of death that troubles me,
but the fear of life after death.
It is not long life I really long for,
but a life well lived for God.
