Divorce

Now I know,
When I gave us 100%
My 100 was only 50.

Now I know,
In the search for a quality man
It's not the time to move swiftly.

Lessons learned, bridges burned,
On this trail of tears.

Pack it in, pack it out?
Well I will have to leave some things,
No doubt.
'Cause you took all I ever had and
I don't ever want you back.

My heart was frozen.
By the cold in yours.
In breaking away,
It took years to thaw.
Years more to ease the soggy aching;

Deep in my bones,

You were my home.
Though you never really knew what that meant.

You never could keep the light on for me,
Now I'm just a regret.
