Rise And Fall

Should my life's ups and downs be stacked side by side,
They would stretch out like waves on the incoming tide.
Like a continuous stream made of both highs and lows
They would tell the whole story of how my life goes

Once caught in a trap, from which I broke free,
The difference became clear, it was so plain to see.
Though both part of life, they are not equally shared.
Their such opposite effects, can not be compared.

As I rise to the top and descend once again,
I will soak up the glory, and fight through the pain.
Looking forward to the future, letting go of the past,
I'll stay here in the present, and pray that I last.
