Facing cancer

In shadows cast by a relentless plight,
I find myself engulfed in a battle's fight.
A whispered diagnosis, a word so stark,
Cancer, the foe that leaves its mark.

A tempest of emotions, swirling deep within,
Fear and uncertainty, where to begin?
Yet amid the storm, a flicker of light,
A resilient spirit ready to ignite.

Like autumn leaves, hope begins to fall,
Fragile, yet determined, it embraces all.
For in the darkest nights, stars still gleam,
And so I hold onto a flickering dream.

I am not defined by this unwelcome guest,
Cancer may linger, but it's not my bequest.
With each breath, I weave resilience and might,
Embracing life's tapestry, vibrant and bright.

The path may be rugged, strewn with despair,
But I'll walk it bravely, despite the wear and tear.
For in this journey, I am not alone,
Wrapped in love and support, my spirit has grown.

Friends and family, pillars of strength,
Together we rise, united at length.
Their hands on my shoulder, a gentle embrace,
Guiding me forward, with grace and with pace.

I seize each day, a precious gift to cherish,
For life's beauty, I fiercely nourish.
In laughter and tears, I find solace and peace,
And cancer's grasp, it starts to decrease.

Though scars may linger, and pain may persist,
I'll bask in love's warmth, an eternal bliss.
For in this battle, I find strength anew,
And cancer's shadow cannot subdue.

So let the verses be my rallying cry,
A testament to courage that won't run dry.
Together we stand, a beacon of hope,
Defying the odds, scaling cancer's slope.

This poem is a testament to all who fight,
The warriors who shine with unwavering light.
For in the face of cancer's unwelcome dance,
We find resilience, and a second chance.
