Forever

The funeral has ended
All dark veils discarded
We shall never forget
The sorrow of this loss
Your life was not yours
Forfeit without remorse
There could have been, so much more
In the darkness, you have gone
With none to carry your name
Despite the hole that has become
I am what remains
In this torment
Of endless pain
Frail I have faltered
Forgotten the faces of my fathers
Silence has claimed
Pulled to the depths
It feels I am the one
Sinking in blackness
Forever
A remnant of your ways
To make but a ripple
Among these cruel waves
A hush falls in your wake
I will always know you
Along the path you have made
A mist of shadow
Trailing my steps
The wind stirs the ashes
A voice calls through the cold
Wading these waters
An echo to behold
I will always know you
Forever, I am yours
I will find you again
Forever, I am yours
I will find you again
Forever, I am yours
