Getting Old

How do we know when we've arrived at the place
of getting old
Is it a special number, the way we feel, or just
what we've been told
Are there clues we must look for as we travel
on this side of life
Can it be measured in all the good days,
or just those filled with strife
Growing old gracefully is advice we
often get
It's like a child on a journey asking,
are we there yet
Old is just the finished product of what
was once brand new
It's a journey best traveled with good friends,
helping others, and finding new things to see and do
