Gondolas

Horses rustling around in their stables
seem to prance so ever gingerly
quiet, through somber waters
never losing stride to make a turn
or go another way,
using only the full moon’s light
guiding them to their destiny,
never tired, never lost
as they softly trot across
the glittered terrain.

But all these horses have two riders,
i don’t wish to ride alone.
Would you ride bareback with me
as the night just lingers on?

We can listen to their tails
wisp against the rose scented moon
setting the tempo for love.

The stay may be a moment...
but the ride shall linger forever,
let us passionately love tonight
before time drifts away.

This Poems Story

\"Horses\" is the metaphor for \"Gondolas\" - at night when all the gondolas are put to rest, they looked like horses in their stables as they moved around from the wakes of water. The second to last stanza refers to a serenading violinist (The bow of a violin is made of horsehair).
