In Their Honour

The thread had started to shred at the end of my rope
By some miracle I was guided to the Center of Hope
I found solace of a kind that's not found everywhere
Of other places I've sought shelter not many compare

Frontline workers that treat me with utmost respect
As it should be there is one thing they rightfully expect
Elementary children learn about it in all of our schools
Even at home we are schooled in obeying the rules

Behind the front lines are miracles so many don't see
Programs and specialists which come absolutely free
Spirituality through chaplains if that's what you seek
Their smiles flash brightly at the strong and the meek

Kitchen staffs stand stoically and serve without fear
Even at times as chaos is erupting here and there
Custodians here are masters of the weave and bob
I'd wish it not upon you to suffer doing their job

Research specialist that can lead you to what you need
To benefit from their knowledge you must pay heed
There are many programs available that are easy to find
Each program manager I have found is one of a kind

Two maintenance workers that are often seen everywhere
Are always focused on repairs needed here and there
That special south desk clerk who is kind of tucked away
Every time that I walk by her she will brighten my day

Then there are those that vigilantly work at the top
Like busy little beavers seldom having time to stop
The center is run by many different beating hearts
Bonding together as one while they all do their parts

A diverse group of souls that all share the same belief
That have committed to serving those in need of relief
It is sad there are so many that seem unable to see
My heart thanks you for all that you've given me

To all the staff members at the Center of Hope
I wish you all a very very Merry Christmas.
