Hummingbird

By Cathy

Beautiful in flight with the many colors arraying your body as you fly around discovering the beauty of this world.
Hummingbird I see you flying so small and strong in flight and life I wonder what you see as you pass by my window.
Watching you fly and play as you fight the many other birds for that taste of nectar throughout the day.
What a small glorious creature to be so strong in your ability to hoover so high in the sky as you fly from food source to the recent nest made high in the pine trees outside my window. From season to season the joy of watching you play and fight with the many other hummingbirds trying to get the taste of delight you enjoy throughout the day.
Knowing you flew hours and miles to grace me with your presents for only A few months til it's time to move on.
Stretching your wings to fly to the place of your birth to start the birth of so many small beautiful birds just as you are.
As life goes on I will enjoy seeing the character of each hummingbird bird that flies through the area I Live wondering if that small tiny hummingbird could be you.
The beauty of each hummingbird moving from around this world to fulfill your mission in life.
So many questions I have wondered how many hummingbirds can one pair of birds create in its short eight years of life?
Does each pair of hummingbirds only mate with a certain amount of birds in that group?
How many more species of these beautiful hummingbirds could there be in a life span of A Hummingbird?
