I Am
My mom left my father when I was born
And she dropped me off on weekends
So that she can go out and have fun
Smoking and partying
While I was at home
I am a product of neglect
Me & my mama came to the states when I was 5
My mama left me at the age of 7
All I ever got was a phone call and random visits
I am not like other females
I NEVER gave my heart away
All I ever did was cause pain
I am not as strong as I seem to be
I keep a hard look and a warming smile on my face
But internally I am broken
I went through puberty by myself
I went through my first relationship by myself
I am damaged
I am different
I am a woman who's life is full of hurt & betrayal
I am a woman who grew up faster than the people in my generation
I am a no longer able to smile
I am a tortured soul
I am Marie
