I remember to forget

I see us dancing in the crowd
king and queen in silver crowns
the future shining bright in our eyes
we were blind to our own lies
I remember to forget

I hear us laughing in the street
Hand in hand as our hearts beat
we were such a beautiful thing
But then it all went away
I remember to forget

I feel your hand in mine
You were day and I was night
people saw that we were wrong
if only we knew that they were right
I remember to forget

I say goodbye to all those nights
ones when the stars were in your eyes
I hope one day our love will come alive
until the day I hold you tight
I'll remember to forget
