This is to you for all your time
that you have given me,
listening to my problems
to me you shall be
an everlasting light
i can turn on at any time
to help lead me down
that dark cobblestone of life.
for without your brightness
i could not detect
what may lie ahead,
i thank you for being
a special one
that shall remain
my special friend.
for you will never be
erased from my life,
no matter the distance
no matter the year
no matter my strife,
i know that i will always have
your attentive ear.
